Whinlatter 10k takes place within the boundaries of Whinlatter Forest, Braithwaite, Keswick, CA12 5TW. Whinlatter has unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick and is home to a host of wildlife, from red squirrels to the Bassenthwaite ospreys who nest near the forest from April to August.

Rustick Weekender - Ruins, Relics and Limestone Outcrops WALX

Location: Ilam Hall Car Park, The Oaks Staffordshire Moorlands

This is one of the great Peak District walks in the Staffordshire sector of the National Park. Starting from Ilam Park at the National Trust Car Park (free to members) heading west along Paradise Walk. Upstream there are two weirs and just above the second are the 'Boil Holes', where the water from the Manifold and Hamps rivers resurges, having flowed underground for several miles. As we follow the river further along the Manifold Trail and through the tiny Hamlet of Castern you will find in spring/summer that it contains nothing but a few stagnant pools.  



Rustick Weekender - In the Footsteps of Izaak Walton

Starting in the small hamlet of Milldale you soon approach the Viators bridge, best known named after a character in the bestselling book The Compleat Angler by Izaak Walton.  Records show that there was a mill to the north of Viator’s Bridge by 1775.

Ashbourne, the Gateway to Dove Dale, is one of the most historical towns of the area. Not only is it famed for its Shrovetide football match, but Church Street is the finest 18th Century street in Derbyshire. You start the walk at the less glamorous retail park but chosen due to its free parking and soon head out through farmland towards the village of Clifton along the Henmore Brook.



Rustick Weekender - Dovedale Challenge Walk

This is a challenging walk because of the distance & the hills, but also a beautiful one with far reaching views. The ultimate hill bagging challenge in this area. Walk three hills dipping in and out of Dovedale.

This is an exhilarating walk in an area steeped in history through a wide variety of Derbyshire scenery, passing through rich woodland at various heights, giving glorious panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. 



Rustick Weekender – Bakewell Trails and Dales WALX

Location: Hassop Station Cafe, Bakewell Derbyshire

Starting at Hassop Station Café, it is a large former railway station in a rural setting on the B6002 near Bakewell & Chatsworth. Originally on the Derby to Manchester mainline between Bakewell & Great Longstone stations.

It is a fast-paced hike you will naturally adjust your speed according to the slope and type of terrain. Going uphill, you can attack the slope by maintaining a high tempo. Then, make sure you enjoy yourself as you speed downhill at an exhilarating rate!
